The Department of Industrial Engineering and Management (IEM) at the MAKAUT, WB, is one of the state-of-the-art academic departments with a holistic and multidisciplinary approach to prepare students for academia and industry. The department is committed to enable the students to achieve Program Outcomes (POs) and Program Specific Outcomes (PSOs) using the four cornerstones for quality learning such as appropriate curriculum, engaging pedagogy, continuous formative assessment, and adequate student support. Presently IEM offers two years’ AICTE approved M.Tech programme in Industrial Engineering and Management with an intake capacity of 30 students along with doctoral programme. IEM possesses well-equipped laboratories and an outstanding faculty-student ratio with motivated, energized, and capable faculty members. The department fosters a learning environment by promoting and inculcating hands-on and project-based experiences among the students. In today's competitive global environment, IEM faculty members and students are undertaking projects aiming to make systems productive, cost-effective, reliable, safer, and responsive in line with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the United Nations. Apart from academics, the Department being a part of the University within its campus at Haringhata, away from the hustle-bustle of city life, opportunity of cocurricular and extra curricular opportunities are also significantly available.
