Work System Design Laboratory
In this laboratory a list of experiments and exercises have been planned for Measurement of Ergonomic variables for Short and Long Cycle Jobs, Work Capacity Measurements, Anthropometry, Work Posture and Human Machine Interface Analysis, Time Study of selected Jobs and MTM applications. After completion of this lab, students will be able to analyse and interpret the results of experiments conducted using various instruments available in the laboratory.
Simulation Laboratory
This lab is concerned with the practical learning of the simulation applications of the industrial systems so that the students can explain the basic steps involved in discrete event simulation, identify and examine the entities involved in a simulation process, decide the activity cycle diagram in each activity and solve the simulation experiments using simulation software. This laboratory is furnished with state-of-the-art high end computers with simulation software to conduct modelling and statistical analyses.
Quality Design and Control Laboratory
The experiments in this laboratory have been designed in such a way that, the students will be able to compute and interpret various parameter and statistic used in statistical quality control, construct and interpret visual data displays, develop control charts for variables and attributes, design acceptance sampling plans for attributes and determine reliability of items connected in series and parallel network. The laboratory is equipped with modern measuring instruments like digital micrometer and vernier caliper, surface roughness tester, various gauges etc. High end computers have been employed in the laboratory to facilitate data analysis.
Design Thinking Laboratory
This laboratory will introduce students to the tools, practices, modes of thinking, and theory of Design Thinking, with an emphasis on practical application in a conducive environment that promotes product design and development. Students will learn to participate in and lead innovation and creativity in collaborative settings undergoing various stages such as ideation and creativity techniques, experimentation and rapid prototyping, concept testing, iterative design, and identifying and communicating unique points of view.
Research Laboratory
In order to carry out research activities, a well-equipped and dedicated laboratory is available with high-end workstations and software.
